I got a webcam that has it's own server, and was running that for a while but the daughter got all pissed off cause she felt people were lookin at us.. although they could only watch the fish tank, she was all paranoid...

very cool though.. i am totally impressed...

btw:  is that a window behind the tank???  or in front... cant tell if it is a reflection

Ya its a regular webcam running off Ustream. We actually tested it and you can't see too awful much of our home besides the tank. Besides my BF mooning the fish! LOL LOL LOL

yea, that was one of the reasons i went with an IP camera...

no need to keep the main computer up and running, as the camera would plug into the router, and would be online full time


I will have to dig it up and see if i can hook it up now that the daughter is not here like she was...

The elec outlet my router is plugged into in my basement has a short and thus the net drops out. I can't seem to maintain a constant feed which really steams me. I rather enjoy watching my tank while I'm at work Boooo..

if your outlet is flaky, replace it.

a short will trip your breaker, but if it's an intermittency, there's something else wrong.  either way its a danger.

all you need to replace it is a new outlet, a screwdriver and about 5 mins (make sure you turn the breaker off first).

I'm totally going to but I rent. So, I'm gonna call the landlord have them come out. First I need to clean up the basement some. Cuz it's still overloaded with most the poo poo we aren't using since we moved in Yikes!
