I used to pull them out at first now I just leave it and within a day or two its gone.   I thought mine had died too the first time I saw it lol then I was like wait that is too perfect to have died and just the insides are gone... lol

it really depends on the shrimp's growth rate.

I've had the fireshrimp approximately 6 months, and He's (I say He  :-\ ) shed four times!!!

our mantises would literally seal themselves in their lairs for a few days to molt.  we actualy lost one of them due to a "bad" molt, which is not uncommon in an older male mantis.

we've had various shrimp that would molt (about) monthly, while others molted less.

Wow...interesting!

Tania - that's alot!!!

I just love watching mine. The clowns are still unsure of him..LOL. If he touches them as they swim by it freaks them out. Sometimes he'll venture over to "their" corner to try and get a feel in  :D It's like it's a game.....
