Aiptasia almost under control, hurrah ;D

They are still popping up, but just treating them as I spot them.

Don't know if I'll ever wipe them out, but just staying ahead will do.  ???

Bit worried about the Mandarin at the moment, I haven't seen him for two days.

Thinking about it I haven't seen the fireshrimp or hermit either ???

Having all sorts of thoughts about them feasting on the mandy behind the rock!!! :(

Saying that, if he had died, I should see a difference in my perameters? and they are all fine at the moment. 8)

Bill, you said you had a mandy. Didn't you also say you didn't see much of him?
 
Perhaps mine has been turned into a lazy slob now he hasn't got to look for his next meal anymore, I'm hoping so.


I'll give it another day or two, then start looking. :-\

yea, maybe in hindsight, maybe should treat the aptasia first then go with nudi's after to get the small / remote / persistant buggah's


And yea, the mandy usually hangs in the back/corners... but on occasion i will see him in the middle.

gotta remember that all the other fish are trained to hang in the middle when you feed them.. the mandy doesnt give a rats You better mean it as in 'donkey' about you and your food, so to them, you are a predator, and reason to hide...

you might want to try weening him onto other foods, or at least give it a try..

talk to the resident experts on cross feeding....   (hello, GREG?.... Greg?...  Bueller???)

And i wouldnt expect to see a change in perameters if just a mandy croaked...  that is the difference between a mature tank and not so mature tank...

moving rocks and stuff around is way more harmful then letting your cuc get a big snack...


BUT, if all the shrimp and stuff died, then hmmm...

but at the least you should see the shrimp shells or at least one of them...

grab the flash light and wait until a couple hours after dark, and start lookin for them beady little eyes...

Perhaps the nudi's are chomping on the small aippys....ever the optimist eh?

I have the mandy eating frozen food, and supplement the tank with live brine shrimp too.

Concerned about him as he seemed to 'like' looking at us looking at him, front and centre.

I'm also thinking the shrimp is in moult (again), as I don't usually see it for 2-3 days when this occurs, and the hermit gets in all sorts of crevices, so not too worried about that one.

Don't want to move the rock.....visions of the rockslide I had a while back..... :'(

ive kinda given up hope for the chat...

I understand folks dont use it cause no one is on, but that is just a function of timing and membership

if we could log on a thte same time it would be perfect, or if get enuf members from different time zones, then they would be on at thier 'normal' times.... and ultimately the chat would be busy no matter what time of day...


but, I been down this road before... it is what it is...

umm, just tried it, and when you click on the CHAT button at the top of the page, and it opens the chat into a new pop up window..

If you hold the ctrl button when you click on a link, any link actually, it will open a new tab, and you can switch back and forth between tabs...

The tabs you open from one page will be color-coded, so all similar colors come from the same place


isnt that what you see/get when you open chat???

maybe a specific time that everyone would come on? Hope you find your Mandarin. I was saw one at the store and thought it looked very pretty, came back and did research..and I thought the GSP's diet was hard lol.

Not sure what you mean by that.. gsp = Green star polyps, and they dont eat anything... well if they do, not much..


and sorry, i was logged on to chat all day, as i have been pretty much glued to the computer as i dont feel like doing much else todya, and it logs users off after a period of time, so it logged me off and i guess you just logged off too, so we missed, sorry...

The Mandy is in view now, he came from behind the rock at lights up this morning.

He hasn't moved all day, and doesn't want to eat!! he won't even take live food at the moment. ???

He looks okay, but it's weird that he's not moving about. :-\

I can't see anything obviously wrong with him, and have had my face practically stuck to the glass in order to look at him.

I thought that would spur him on to move away from the glass, but nothing.  :(

Any suggestions?

speaking of chat..would it help if we picked a time..considering everyones time zone and try that? like five in calif would be  one hour more in each time zone wherever u guys are..just an idea cuz when i was on the chat it was fun..when ppl showed up that is...
