text entry issues
« on: February 10, 2010, 07:52:09 PM »
When typing larger/longer messages, (ok, I know... Im probably the only one that will see this problem...)

the screen becomes all jumpy, and the text portion, (the box where you can view what you are typing), seems to not be in synch or show the actual cursor or text as it is being typed...

Anyways.. I have tried a few things and will be testing this , but if you see some issues or if the problem is worst/better/same,.,, please let me know

thanks

bill

Also, if yo uhave a clue as to what is wrong or how to fix it... let me know...

btw:  it seems that he the problem is still here as i am trying to type a long message... and of course i am seeing the problem still

this is a test of the emergency broadcast system

If this was a real emergency, someone would probalby not care enough about you and would be running and hiding and protecting thier own familes while we all suffer and are basically the last to know..

anyways, i am still trying to fix the effing problem and need to type very long messages... sorry for this

this change should have removed the phot upload options... you can only upload pictures through a web server like photobucket.com

I will put the upload options back once i am sure they are not the problem to the text entry issues...

anyways.. on to typing long You better mean it as in 'donkey' messages

and here we go...

AREGGGGHHH!!!

you dont like my scarcasm???

I really cant figure this out...

Im about to unistall all the mods and then upload the latest and greatest version..

I have been holding off on doing that upgrade for two reason..

First and foremost is because htey call it a beta upgrade although it has been beta for 2 years...

they released an upgrade to the BETA but still call it BETA,

Second was due to the size or rather the number of members...

I kinda wanted to know if the forum was going to get much more popular or not to warrant all the extra work/effort involved in upgrading and monitoring a forum, (especially a BETA)

btw:  for those that were here for the very first thelittleocean forum, you know that BETA and I dont get along...

for those that dont know.. i was using a different forum software and it was beta and i installed all kinda of mods, but when the forum software had a problem they told me that it was a beta, duh, and that they dont support the mods.. so baically they couldnt help me...

Bottom line is i kinda understand the reluctance and apprehension some forums might have when it comes time to uograding and stuff

That makes a ton of sense.  I have a beta version os on my phone and it updates all the time I like the beta but its also very easy to update on a cell phone.  I can imagine it would be somewhat of a pita for a forum...

It's a lot of work for you, so I suppose we should bear in mind that the problem is only intermittent, and not a full time nuisance.

I cancel my entry when the glitch occurs, or think it may be a waffle warning... ;) and cut down my words...a blessing for you all I'm sure. :-\

actually the blessing is for alot of you, as i have a big reputation for haveing BIG messages...

But, no need to cancel your message when it happens, either type through the problem and ignore it, or just break the message up into smaller messages

I will get to it, as that problem is not good...

I dont mind fixing and tweaking things that need it... but as stated before, I am measuring the amount f time and effort to coincide with the support and membship i get...

No need to pump thousands of hours and all kinds of mods and things for 10 people... (I love you all, but come on now...)

ACtually, it aint like that at all...

I love tweaking and modding stuff, whether it is a fish tank, Remote control cars, stained glass windows, candles, or programming website...

I actually love to learn how to build websites and all that, but the big problem was that what i wanted to have doene/included was/is not basic.. (of course not).. it is more intermediate...

What i wasnt on my 'website', (not the forum), is called or referred to as DYNAMIC wepsite/webpage

a static webpage is just something folks go and look at ... maybe they can post a commetn to, but that's it...

my website/webpage, has the sql database, and there are ways to adjust/set the output.. i.e. what type of graph, what to include in the graps, etc....

Along with acutally retriving and manipulating the data that is in the database file...

so, I dont know the baics, but yet i know the intermediate stuff...

Learning and finding texts to acomidate me, is impossible...

And i didnt want to waste my time or money in learning 'basic' stuff that i dont need, but is a 'pre-requisite' that i dont really need...

anywaus,, the text jumpin thing is driving me crazy...

arrrrgggghhh
