lol, up on the rock work. I scraped off a poo poo load of mushrooms from a few places and that opened up a little space. I'll take a photo later after the lights come on. The guy i picked up the bits from you know bill, his name is mike and lives over in cypress park. He had some of his colonies mounted on the glass via magnets. A few of his monti cap colonies started out that way and encrusted onto the glass.

Jake stopped by and dropped some branches off with me, sending me from full to overflowing as well. I managed to get them all placed...as long as they don't grow.

I am blown away by how happy these poorly acclimated/unhealed frags are. They are definitely loving life.

no, its the two little sticks on the far right.

when it grows 'out' and starts forming a 'colony'  it will more resemble a 'birds nest'   (like little twigs interwoven)

the colors are tri color if i recall, pink, purple, and something else???

the one with the red/orangeish ring in the back is a Blastomussa wellsi. I was just naming all of the SPS corals in the front row..

So, Jake picked me up last night and we went to the Southern California Reef Keeper's meeting down at Age of Aquariums. It seemed pretty cool. The club is just starting up and we had to sit through their elections process and a fragging demonstration that surmounted to "cut it, glue it" before we got to the raffle, but we both got some treasure.

I ended up with a new 14K 150w MH bulb, which I was pretty happy about, since I have been too poor to replace my lamps, and a table acro that I have no idea what to do with. I built a little frag tray into my 30g last week to handle this onslaught of new coral and it is already full.

Jake got some mystery zoas and some calcium supplements.

AoA was pretty cool. They are the most reef-oriented fish shop I have seen, but it is way pricey and their fish didn't look to be in particularly great health. That said, it was sunday night, and that is the bottom of the barrel for selection since wholesalers only operate during the week.

The state of things. Jake gave me the two milleporas and the awesome blue staghorn that is affixed to the back of the tank...I am running out of real estate. The blue stag has already encrusted the superglue, as have two of the milleporas and one of the montipora setosa frags.

Here is the integrated frag tray with a couple new Acros - the tabling one with purple tips was the raffle win. The taller green one was from the wholesaler a couple days ago, and the rest are from when the swamping happened a couple weeks ago. The green slimer has formed a new growth tip where jake chopped it and is looking all sorts of good. The galaxia was from a LFS that I traded for some freshwater fish from a tank takedown that I didn't want to take care of long enough to sell them to another client. It was totally brown until about a week ago when it took on an awesome purple ring of outer tentacles and green inner tentacles look.

By the way...photos taken under 14k 150w MH with actinics off. And if you were wondering, yes, there is a plague of red planaria covering everything. My sixline is slowly wearing them down though. He is fat and happy with his unlimited food source. Some day, I will dose the tank with flatworm exit.

Purchased two banded pipe fish today for $3.50 each. They have notoriously poor survivability for wild-caught specimens, which I can only imagine these are, but it is worth a try. The larger went into the 50g and the other in the 30g. Both are already grazing and seem to have settled in. The clarkii in the 50g chased the new addition for about ten seconds and has since ignored it. I also replaced my yellow tang, which eventually succumbed to something or other after the snout trapping incident. I never saw a bit of the corpse, so I will never know.

I snapped a pic of the one in the 50g, but lights were out before I got pics of the 30g with the new pipefish, tang and nudis.
