new features and changes

Hey all,

I have been looking at some of the new features of the latest versions of the forum software, and have decided taht i will be uploading and installing the lastest and greatest version soon.

but until then, i have uploaded and isntalled several new modifactions..

some ore just for fun, some or for information and suppoort.
I have installed one that youcan access from your profile page that willlet you show a flag of your nation of origin, (where you are from)

OK< as you can see, we have  a newer and greater forum for our enjoyment...


I didnt plan on doing it this fast, and was just playing around with some 'mods' and packages for the old forum, but i screwed up and had a forum crash for about 4-5 hours... I actually didnt know about till Jay emailed me, (thanks bud)...

I know there were problems but didnt know it affected the whole forum...

Anyways, in the process of finding out what the problem was, i gave up and just installed the newest version... Which is good, but it deleted all the mods that were on before, so, if you are missing a feature or function, please let me know, and i will put it on the list to be added.  (since im not sure what aw used or not)

ALSO, the forum has a feature called THEMES... you can access this in your profile... the themes can actually change things around for you quite a bit... IT can move the buttons from one side to the other, or change them from text to pretty little pictures../ i guess they are called ICONs.../ buttons

I only have a few themes installed, but frrom what i can tell, you can change/edit them to your little hearts content...

You can find themes all over the net by searching for SMF themes

You can also find some theme editor/generators.. and some information on how to customize a theme to your particular likeing...

You can make it black and white, or pretty little colors to scifi like to totally themed to a specific tv show or movie... Yes, you can even have a SG1 theme....

So, if you find a theme you like let me know.. if you create or edit a theme, let me know.. I can make them available to everyone...

The only thing i ask is that you do this kinda sooner rather then later....

The other mods and packages are / will need to be converted to any 'custom' theme, so it is best to install all the themes as early as possible, then when the other mods or packages are installed it will mod the themes that we have already to that point... instead of me or someone manually going back and editing themes later on...

ALSO, for those with mobile phones and internet connection, YES, that is Ben/Wwodzy... gues what... I have a mobile phone theme... So, go to your profile and change your theme to the mobile Curve...  and then you should be golden...

I will be reviewing the need for the chatroom... I ABSOLUTELY love the chatroom but, if it isnt being used by more then me and hajra, then i wont be installing it..

If you search the net for SMF mods and hacks you can search for mods that you think you might like to see/use...

(this version is the RC2 version)

so make sure the mods are compatible with RC2
