Thanks Haj, followed the link, but Tennessee is far far away for me...I'm in the UK, so wouldn't like to put anything through that journey...lol

Just a little advice, don't let them 'get a hold', I had to completely empty my system and get rid of all rock and coral, except one brain.

Apart from the upset, the whole episode cost about five hundred pounds; I would hate it if you or anyone else had to do the same.

Hope you get rid soon,
Tania.

Agreed, get rid of them asap!
if at first you dont suceed, try try, oh hell, just shoot the some woof woof!!!!!!! -Bill

Thanks Bill, I finally found a site, checked it out, and they seem reputable.

I gave them a call, and would you believe it?? they have NO peppermints at the moment, as the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud has grounded all planes in Germany today!!!

You've probably heard about the closing of British and European airspace due to the volcanic ash....
anyhow, they said to give them a call Wednesday evening, and they may be able to send one then.....fingers crossed...

found another two today,,,aaaarrrggghhh.
Text jumping again....my life eh???

you can make the text entry box larger to get rid of the 'text jumping' thing.... sorry that it does that, and not sure how to fix it or to make that box bigger...  i would like to just make a note on that screen to let folks know how to 'fix' / avoid it...

please post the links to the euro places that you are shoppin from so that others in your neck o the woods can find it if needed...

I also want to see what they got and what is hot on your side...

Also, you should get at least two peppermints...  over here, they are about $8 each at the lfs, but not sure what they go for over there... especially with the shippin issues you got goin on now.. but if it aint a volvano, it is something else isnt it???

Yaaay, enlarged the box, thanks for the tip, a techie I am not!!!

Here is the link to the supplier I found today; as I said earlier, I haven't used them yet, but have fun looking.

Two peppermints? do they get on better in pairs?
Off to research now, airspace here has re-opened...don't know how long for though!!!!

just like the nudibranchs, the peppermints can be 'hit and miss', so to make sure things work in your favor/odds, I would strongly get at least two...

they will eat other foods so  it isnt like they will starve afterwards... and they are kinda fun to watch, not as much fun as the cleaner shrimps, but still night time is the right time to be a shrimp... hehehe

http://www.aquatic-store.co.uk/marine/browse/148/critters?page=2

here is another store in your neck o the world

it's funny, peppermints are moer expensive then cleaner shrimp???

not sure about shipping, but you might want to contact all thse online places and ask if you can get local pickup, depending on if it is nearby to you, to avoid shipping damage/death

you should still expect to pay a 'box' fee or some other charge...

Thanks  Bill, an interesting find...my search engine didn't pick up on that one!!!

They have no pep's either....but I've to call the company I found, on wed's evening; hopefully, they will be able to supply them, as airspace is now open again.

They have guaranteed safe arrival, so will probably go with them...will be very careful with acclimation, precious cargo and all that.

Thanks again,

Tania.

Are you still planing on getting those peppermint shrimps?

I have asked everywhere!!! no-one seems to be able to supply them.
I now have three suppliers on the lookout for me.
I don't want to chance mail order....not that I know of anyone who has them anyway.

Obviously as common as rocking horse poop....lol

actually, what's happening is that the peps, like macro and even certain fish are seasonal.  peps typically come from the Caribbean, and will likely start to show up in the next couple of months.  once they do, you'll likely see them everywhere.

even with all the LFS around here, i'm still only seeing a few here and there.

Thanks Greg....I am always thanking people here :0)
I read about the seasonal thing an article recently, and also found that there are two types of pep'....so have been tracking down the
Lysmata wurdemanni, as apparently these are the ones....if I ever get them.  :41:

once you compare the two species (or pix) side-by-side, you'll be able to recognize L. wurdemanni easily over L. californicus.

Two weeks minimum on the shrimp!!!!!

Sooo impatient now, but can only wait....and watch...obsessed. :embarrassed1:

Hi Amy, long time no speak;
hope all is well with your tank, no news and all that...lol
It's great to actually see the fish doing 'stuff' now there is rock in the tank again; it's as though they all have to draw new territorial lines, but don't really care as they can hide and seek to their hearts content.
Just waiting for the diatom to leave (again), and will post more pic's.
