yea, if she didnt have water in there then you can skip the vinegar bath/wash...

just use a some soap and water, and clean then dry it out and you should be good to go

I plan to get some of them and then after maybe a year some zebra fish.  But right now I'm trying to get the best thing for my betta that's under 30 bucks, hopefully.

Thx.  I'll find out what the size of the tank is this weekend.  I'm going to take it even if it's 1 gallon if it has a lid, but I'm hoping it's 2 gallon.

my local petsmart sells a 2.5 g tank thats a black acrylic w/ lid for 12 dollars

I found a 3 gallon Tetra tank and I'm hoping that my local Kmart has it.  I may end up buying a Tetra 5 gallon tank from Walmart, which is cheaper than the one I found at the pet store on Monday.  I'm following a blog where they are recommended no smaller than 2.5.  I might get the tank below and spend the money or just save almost 20 bucks and get the 5 gallon.

the whole betta thing is debateable. 1/2 a gallon is what the store says, 1 gallon IMO the lowest you should go, 2.5 is good but 5 is better and some people argue anything below 5 is cruel...eh their perfectionist and bash anyone that doesn't follow their beliefs.

I know.  I found some platic tanks for really cheap, but I couldn't find anything that said their size.  The funny thing is the 5 gallon kit at Wal-mart is cheaper than the 3 gallon kit at K-mart and they're by the same company.

I'm going to get his new tank this weekend and start next week getting ready for him.  I'm doing the best I can for now.  I'll get what he really needs as soon as I can get it.

Most places will price match... so you might want to find out if kmart does or doesnt... (if kmart is better for you??)

It's actually the only 3 gallon Tetra tank I could find.  I have found 2.5 tank with Tetra filters, but I think I would be better with the 3 gallon.

I now have Buddy in a free 2 1/2 gallon tank.  He's a very happy little guy.
