latest pictures

well, i have some new pics...

but first is a picture of an Acanastrea, (spelling is way off)



this is the coral when it is normal... but the next pics are tonight... the polyps are totally at war... this is what it looks like when it is attacking or being attacked by other corals, but there is nothing near it... but i did move the couple plate corals i have further away in case the polyp extension gets too out of hand

check out the MASS of polyp extnesion in the next pictures

im not sure of teh latin/genera, but I bet lanny or Greg can answer that for ya'


the  common name is RBTA, or rose, bubble tipped anemone


i have a history of having anemones that lose thier bubbles, although you can kinda see SOME bubbleish formations on a couple of the tentacles....

Space is the final frontier. Idk, I'm stuck in the middle of it, my two career choices would be between space and the ocean. But it is true we know more about space than the ocean.

im with you on this... my signature on other forums used to show my interests... astrophysics and oceanography...

way up high and way down low...


i find it interesting that there are actually a lot of people that familiar or more with astro physics..... im guessin that info/knowldge comes from some of the tv shows on discovery or other channels...


im actually watching a show on Paranal right now....


friggin amazing.... they have a flexible /active optics mirror, sorry, actually it has FOUR flexible/active optics mirrors


truckin the mirror from the dock to the top of pranal, was a 170 km  and it took Two Days,....

space is cool, but i can tell you that most of the "rocket scientists" i know are pretty clueless.  i can't believe some of the questions i have to answer.  the only thing i can say is that the job pays decently, but i'm getting burned out on it.  then again, i've always looked at working as a means to an end as opposed to a "career"...
