gotta twist the seaweed into a cigarette/joint and put that into the clip.. the tang will be slowed down a bit and it should last long enough for everyone to get in there

Thanks, Bergy. I'll give it a try. Joint? :0012397:

For a follow up. The tennenti now looks fine. Back to grazing almost continuously, classic lawnmower.

Man, when I read on some areas about how the Ich can literally wipe out the livestock, I thought my tank was a goner! Anyway, UV sterilizer and Chem Marin Stop Parasite arriving via UPS next week. Should be right in time before the next outbreak.

+1 - dont add anything to your DT you dont have to. Although you only have a few softies at the moment its still not a good idea to dose medications to your main DT unless you REALLY have no other choice.. (ie breaking down the tank and starting over vs dosing chemicals)

Pretty much the same thing my local guy said. I can probably do just that since my Tangs seem able to survive infection.

For the sake of argument, though, the product describes itself as "reef safe". Quote "Stop Parasites' natural ingredients remove all types of parasites, including saltwater Ich. Completely safe for all fish, invertebrates, and corals and does not harm the fish's liver as does copper". From another web site, "Before you had to remove the fish and put them in a hospital tank, which stressed them, even further. Now you can treat them right in the show tank without damaging expensive corals and inverts."

I really, really, want to get rid of the dang Ich. It's like waiting for a time bomb to go off. Comments?

i am guessing that since we have no practical experinece with that product we arent going to be able to say yes or no to it...

but generally speaking, we dont like addng things we dont need...

if your fish are showing symptoms then there really isnt a need...

maybe when the symptoms return???

Maybe if you hookup the uv filter and the sypmptoms never show up then .....

i tried a similar "natural" product back awhile (when i was trying not to catch all the fish in my reef), and it didn't work.  i'd do some checking on it before using it.  what are the active ingredients?

as bill sez, if the fish is clear, then maybe try UV, or it may have been one of those "transient" few spots that one sees from time to time.

i'm currently keeping a close eye on the volitans to see if i need to yank it and treat it (the HT is up and running, and we have the med).  if it gets more than the odd spot we see now, the fish is getting dosed.
