so i bought some new toys....
« on: May 11, 2010, 07:34:02 PM »
Hehehe, i was bored and havent spent money in a few weeks so figured, what the helll...

First off, i b ought the light sensor attachment for my Korallia adjustable/controllable powerheads...

It as more expensive then it should be, but whatever... now, the wave cycle will slow down considerable when lights go off.... i have been playin with it and calibrating it and trying to figure it out, and think i got it now...  very cool

next toy... i downsized in heaters... i had the glass Hydor THEO 400 watt heater....

I wanted the power of the 400 when i got it, but it really doesnt need to be that big and would cause problems ... either from being too big or from being glass... with a small sump and lots of stuff in there, it is a good or better chance of damaging the glass...  now it is titanium...
I relocated it to the overflow...

so, if the pwer goes out or the pump goes down, then it will only affect the overflow...

not really a good place to place it for wherever you do, if thet will be a [problem somewhere for some reason.. this way, the only risk is if the tank gets too cold, (unlikely in california), or the heater stays on and cooks the overflow only...

I also bought a REALY GOOD, (read that as expensive)  check valve for the calcium reactor....   maybe now that i have the last part of that puzzle, i will put in together and hook it up finally????

i also bought a bunch of co2 tubing and some plastic hose clamps.... and a section of corregated/flexible  tubing for the return pump...

not sure why i got it, but it looks cool... and no, it isnt corrugatred on teh inside, and yes it is very flexible... without kinking...

i also relocated some wiring and the aquacontroller, to hopefully clean it up a little an dkeep the saltwater from splashing onto the AC3...

no, havent moved on the sump yet... im kinda wondering about makin it out of acrylic... i really bneed to sketch the sump out and make sure it is going to work the way i want it to see which direction i need to go...

the heater is jbj...im kinda bummed though.. it has a two degree 'swing' built into the heater... two degrees... wth?????    i have been living with .3 swing with the aqua controller for years....

the jbj contrller has accuracy to the tenth, so why is it two degree..????

needless to say the temp dropped significantly in my tank last night

http://66.147.240.164/~thelitu5/TLO/graphs.php?period=hour24&from=&to=&Temperature=1&pH=1&HT1=1

i am trying to figure out how to set it up so the i can use the jbj controller as part of the 'back up' safety/ redundancy thing and have less then two degress swin built in..

right now, the closes i can get is to have the controller ocme on aat 78.7   and the ac3 set to come on at 77.7

this way, when the ac3 clicks the heater on, the jbj will actually be on...

if i set the jbj for anything less, then the controller will come on, but the temp will still be gettin colder as the jbj wont actually start heating until it is one degree below it's set point..

so now, the heater will come on when it is supposed to, but it t will shut off when the ac3 shuts it down...

i know when setting up a heater on a ranco controller they reccomend setting the on point for the heater 5 degrees cooler than the temp you have the ranco set for, it lets the controller do the controlling and the stock thermostat act as a redundant backup. Maybe set the jbj 2 degrees below the ac3 on point and let the controller do the bulk of the work..

Bill, are you fighting terror with your website? Infecting mohammedbinzayed.com? Is there an ulterior motive here?

The link is your link to your graphs.

When I click it with Mozilla, it is registered as a reported attack site.
