well, not sure what is going on... well, i kinda doo, but, nothing i can do about it right now...


my calcium is low, around 360(ish), and alk is low, around 6-7...


but, i wouldnt think they are low enuf to kil things or let things die...


i lost my tablin acro last week...  i had it for more then a year, and it grew, it did go thru some issues.. i had red bug last couple months ago, and i treate the tank with medicine...and the acro came back and the colored up nicely... growth was good...

but two weeks ago, it was lookin kinda bad, and last week it went all out dead...


this week, yesterday, my pocilipora is starting to show signs of stress, and losing some flesh... i broke off and threw away a few branches... more then enuf to get between the death and the not dead/stressed, to hopefully avoid this from spreading...

i removed the dead branches from teh tank to make sure there was no /communication going on... I moved the colony to another spot...


arrrggghhh

this coral grew from a small twig/frag... and then i fragged that colony, and grew another colony... it is this colony that is starting to die off... it is second generation  tank raised and was growing like crazy

it was as large as a softball...   and now, it is almost half that size... uggghhh

sad how it can take a day to die for what took a half year to grow...


oh well


Im guessing i need to bump up the calcium and alk... i really want to get my calcium reactor hooked up and want some moral support/help... any takers????

and i am getting the physical support locally... im thinkin i will get the calcium reactor installed tomorrow maybe... I will try to get my sump finished.. although i am not sure why the glass shop lost my order... and i guess, instead of being my usual, stay on top of people and dont let them do thier job mentality, and letting things go for so long, has 'backfired' yet again...


it sucks when i do and sucks when i dont...

i went to a local counsling facility... and it was a like a lock down facility... hmmm.. what am i getting myuself into....

anyways, i went thru thier 'intake' assesment process, and have been approved to get couinseloing... hnnnn didnt know i needed to be approved...

oh well...

it really shouldnt be a big deal... just want a little moral suppport a a little back support... i really hate bending over... pickin up stuff i drop is a pita.. bending over to put filter socks in is a pita too... i usually have to take some pain pills wait till they kick in... then get the sock going, and hope i dont run into problems... if i do, i wait till another day...

kalk-reactor=calcium reactor, interchangeable.

im more familiar with KALK reactor being a kalkwasser reactor... a single chamber that uses kalwasser/pikklining lime and keeps it in solution, i.e. maximum solution..


calcium reactor is a more chemical reaction in that pH/acidic solution is used to dissolve solidified calcium carbonate

but, either way...


If and when you are able, I guess this weekend will work as todays schedule didnt happen like i thought...

just let me know if you are up for a little work... shouldnt be too bad.. but between your hand/wrist and my back... it should be a good time... heheheheh

all the flesh fluffled off in the last two days...looked like a soft/web / cacoon of fluff all over...


oh well, it lasted well over 2-3 years and grew like crazy...  i have shared that coral with lots of people and hopefully it's dna will continue somewhere...


unfortunately it wont be in my tank... :(

sorry, yesterday turned into a kerfuffle. my wife took the day off work so i spent the morning with her, picked up the boy and did things around the house, then spent 2 hours trying to get my phone fixed/replaced.. what a time suck..

i doubt serioiusly that you would have been able to save/resuce the coral... except to maybe take it somewhere else...

once we get you stabilized again i'll give you back another frag. Been growing good in my tank for quite some time. Its easily 4x the size it was when i originally got it..
