well, i got my calcium reactor hooked up and runnin thanks to Jake... it was uber easy... for me... hehehehehehe and for some reason, even though it was easy, i was sweatin up a storm... drippin off like a rain storm... hmmmmm, not pretty... sorry jake...
it went in ok, although i kinda forgot about the supply pump/feed pump... and havin to scramble at the last minute lookin for fitting and adapters to get it hooked up to match the aqua lifter and teh reactor John guest fitting...but, Jake was able to not only figure that connection out, but even hooked up a temporary pump to fill up the reactor quicker...
(the reason it took as long as it did was because i didnt have the power on to the pump, via the aqua controller... ooops
im really glad it is up and runnin and to get baseline peramters...
SG = 1.026
ALK = 5mg/l
Calcium = 325 (effluent from reactor = 385)
I guess i have a calcium issue...
and like jake said, i need to dial in the reactor and make sure it is stable... the goal with reactors is to create a contant suppliment that matches the demand of hte tank... the controller is there to make sure something doesnt jmp or go wacky, but ideally, it should not be used to 'control' the dosage... just for 'insurance'...
if your tank sues 10mg/l per day, then the reactor should supply 10.
this process of dialling in takes a while, but with the regulator i have, it is easier and faster then most all the other reactors and regulators...
Im hopin to get the calcium up as quickly as safely as possible... but for now, i will work slowly to make sure the regulator doesnt go all funky wunky
