/Begin highjack

I didn't want to create another thread so I figured I'd stick these in here.

New zoas from jake. A bunch of babies popping off and it has only been a couple weeks. In addition, I forgot them in a medicine bottle, sealed, overnight. They were open in the medicine vial, and back open again within five minutes of hitting the tank.

The frag rack for the moment. I got a ton of new acros etc and needed a place to hold them without tumbling into cracks. Fluorescent green Clauvularia nearest to camera.

I am excited to see all these color up. The yellow one has super yellow polyps. I foresee a Folds LE line in the making. Sticking out behind it (front right in the above pic) is some sort of crazy deepwater acro with insane form and purple color. Prize find as well.

Grey guy on the left has white polyps and really interesting growth. We'll see in a year...

The new derasa, tucked next to the crocea, which btw, is doing great. Look at that mantle.

One of the most exciting finds...top left, terrible angle of some bitchin zoas. That orange is fluorescent and the photos are under 20K actinic and nothing else.  Millepora, center left is also going to be interesting.

FTS. Everything is growing like wildfire, including flatworms. I lost two nice montiporas a while ago for no reason, and everything else thrived the whole way through. The big center acro puts on daily visible growth. It's awesome.

C'mon everyone else...let's see some pics!
There is something fishy going on here...

Well, I made use of the mounting magnets Bill gave me. I checked out my tank with a flashlight tonight, and noticed that the teeny tiny frag of ORA Red Planet that Carson gave me was rocking back and forth on its superglue mount. It wouldn't have made it through the night, and I never would have found it if it fell, so I am happy. I slapped it on one of those magnets, which BTW are ridiculous strong. I like it though, I will soon have acro wall competing with each other for light and shading the rest of the tank.

i was at pacific reef yesterday with greg and they have two tanks that had zoas growin all over the back wall... not jsut a small frag or two, but a couple hundred zoas...

They had one colony that was growing up / onto the water surface... uber amounts of light... less then 1/4" of water covering it...

I always wanted that... that was my plans for the magnets,  to get fast grwoing stuff to grow/encrust onto the tank asap so i woiuldnt see the magnets, or eventually remove them and use them somewhere else...

pacifi reef is cool... it was actually the first lfs that i went to that had a frag swap for scnrs... it was before i found out that most folks on that forum are money grubbers but that is a different story..

the store is clean and has lots of good stuff for selection...   i think greg likes that store a lto as they have good supply of fishies...

the bbq/party was cool.. very 'family' type of bbq...  i was ok most of the time but had a couple moments where i would think about if i could have a family like thgat or just aparty like that.

when i was a kid, my family was all about those types of parties, but since i married, and divorced and had a kid, i never had a part like that...

all my parties revolved around food, and my ex and my daughter  hated dealing with cooking/shopping/cleanup.. etc... so i would refrain from those type of events...

i really miss them..

Which Pacific reef are you guys talking about, because yesterday, I was at a Pacific reef in Fountain Valley part of my 'birthday' tour (went to 5 fish stores), went to Tongs also, lots of selection but very expensive. I didn't find pacific reef very clean though.

the absolute cleanest LFS in OC is 'Eye Candy'...their tanx are always spotless.  nice folks too (they were one of my Phyto 2 accounts when we were doing that).

Tong's has a LOT of stock there, and if you talk to Tong, and you're getting something pricy, he'll deal for cash (at least he always has for me).

OC Aquatics is a nice shop, altho small.  Kevin and Steve are super nice guys.

PR in Torrance has a lot of room, and could be a jammin shop, but has kinda gone downhill since Mike isn't running it now.  the Tustin store is OK, Erik is a cool guy.  Fountain Valley typically has some decent stock, and Chris (Mike's brother) is OK to deal with.

Bill,

we missed you at Steamer's last PM.  you woulda heard me doing an improv be-bop solo on a Charlie Parker/Dizzy Gillespie tune, which is scary, and Melanie was there to sing.  also, you missed a jazz improv solo on a penny whistle and Rob did a thing on the contra-bass sax.
