Update and Pics :)
« on: August 23, 2010, 12:08:16 PM »
It's been a long while since I posted an update but there really hasn't been any changes...which I suppose is a good thing  :0012398:

The clowns are great, finally getting a bit of size on them. Love the cleaner shrimp he really makes the tank...LOL. Every single morning as the clowns are still sleeping he'll venture over to their sleeping area and wake them by "tickling/cleaning". It's like clock work...hilarious!! We are down to one hermit which is fine by  me....the last one got his shell taken away by the other and I found him hidding out. I put an empty shell close to him which he did take to...but only lasted a few days. The one that is left was the bully of the three...he is blue the others were black with a white stripe. The nass snails are going strong, a few of the ceriths have been eaten, as well as both turbos.

Next plan of action is to upgrade the lights, using flourescents atm. Get more rocks to replace the few "fake" structures in there - well all but one which has become the clowns home....LOL.  And THEN onto some beginner corals. Which I will need help with :D

So yes, my tank is pretty empty for a 55gal but I love it!! :)
Thanks for reading...

i like the kinda empty look of a tank.. can you get a fts, (full tank shot please)

and yes, the cleaner shrimps are fun to watch.. definately the most active crittes especially at night if you have two, but i dont suggest getting two until/unless they tank cansupport both...

and yes, no worries on the lack of updates.. like you know that is usually a good sign... hearing updates of failures is kinda a drag.. but we still want to hear them  :)

NO MORE FISH TANKS FOR BILLY BOY!!!!

Pleased all is well in your tank Amy, great pic's.
The clowns look 'grown up' now..lol, and the shrimp seems to love the camera  :hee20hee20hee:

A blue legged crab was a complete nightmare in our tank...rather than go over or around rock and coral, it would just knock it or throw it to one side!!! needless to say, we no longer have it  :-/

Looking forward to the 'full tank shot'

Tania.

haha, the dreaded full tank shot!! My tank needs work...it is bare. I did realize after it was up and running that I would have done things differently. Much differently. More rocks, no plastic plants  :sign0023:

So I'm not exactly pleased with how it looks but hey, it's a healthy tank and I am proud of that considering it was my first go at s/w.

I do like the "kinda" empty look too Bill, but mine is VERY empty!! haha.

They do look all grown up don't they Tania!!!

Thanks for the comments! FTS to come...

Couldn't agree more Amy.

Our tank is rather 'busy' looking at the moment - I'll post a pic' soon - lol

At least with some space you can easily spot if anything untoward is happening, before it takes a hold <flashback to Aippie infestation> :-(
