tank update!
« on: September 02, 2010, 11:16:45 AM »
hey folks!

wow, its been a long time since i posted.  but after months of massive girlfriend drama...school drama....and a new boss who is cutting into my message board time...i am finally posting again!!

i dont have much to report.  my cleaner shrimp disappeared...im assuming died and eaten.....its off because some of my friends who saw him wanted to do the same thing....

my pulse xenia came uphooked from its rock and disappeared, but my red sea xenia are reproducing like crazy!  i added a few more nassarius snails to the tank.....i only got a few because i wasnt sure how many the tank could sustain....but after reading up after the fact, i could have bought a LOT more....which i still might!

i'm not real sure what direction to take my tank now.  i could get a few more fish, replace the shrimp, get some more coral.  but my gf is pushing me to move to tyler, and im getting kind of tired of the upkeep of the tank....so i dont know.  for now, im just going to sit back and enjoy looking at it!

hope everyone has been well...

hey there.. we missed you?  did you read my adventures thread???

as for the nass snails. i wouldnt get too many... they are carnivorus so you can target feed them or they will get the occasional dead shrimp or fish.. but i would settle for about 3-4.. and make sure to toss them some silver side fish once in a while...

as for the drama... hows about posting some of it.. we like to live vicariously thru others sometimes, even if it is to see the negative and appreciate the litle bits we have on our own??? hehehehehe

NO MORE FISH TANKS FOR BILLY BOY!!!!

In terms of stocking Nassarius sp., I'd start at about 1 per 10 gals max.  As Bill mentioned, they can be hand fed if they aren't getting enuff to eat.  My faves are the big Tongan variety.  There's also a cool spotted one that gets largish too.  N. vibex is the most common species.
